“Bolder Boards: Nonprofit Board Service for the Fearless”
Nonprofit boards are a great way to get engaged in community service and make Cabarrus County a better place, but information about how to join and serve on boards is scarce. Join us for a series of two workshops to learn about the paths to board service and the questions to ask before you sign up; the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards; and key questions and skills that are essential for board membership but useful in your work and personal lives, as well. We’ll use case studies, discussion and table challenges to keep the conversation energized, and our trainer will leverage her 25 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector to answer all your questions.
These sessions are designed for those who have not previously served on a nonprofit board of directors.
About the presenter, Andi Stevenson:
Andi Stevenson is the founder of Stevenson Wallace LLC and a consultant and facilitator who serves nonprofits nationwide. She has worked in the nonprofit sector for 25 years, which makes her feel both wise and old every time she says it. Her specialties are strategic planning, board training and the unique needs of arts organizations, which she served in Fort Worth, Dallas, Philadelphia and Charlotte. She is the proud owner of an MBA earned while working full time, two spoiled rescue dogs, and far too many sequins, thanks to her secondary life as a competitive ballroom dancer.
