Hope Haven, Inc. is a 501c-3 non-profit organization that provides residential aftercare services through four facilities for more than 300 men, women and families annually. Hope Haven is dedicated to helping people in recovery rebuild their lives by providing them with a safe, supportive, drug-free environment with specialized services allowing residents to receive counseling, obtain essential job skills, and reconnect with family and society while achieving a healthy and stable recovery leading to self-sufficiency. For over 40 years, Hope Haven has worked to break the cycle of homelessness and addiction, one family at a time. Through a comprehensive residential recovery program that lasts an average of ten months for single men and women and up to two full years for families, Hope Haven literally moves people from living in shelters, cars and under bridges to a place where they are able to reintegrate into society as productive citizens with the life skills to remain clean and sober. Hope Haven's largest facility, The Villages of Hope Haven, is located on North Tryon Street and has 180 beds to serve homeless, chemically dependent families with children and individual men and women recovering from substance use disorder. Hope Haven’s innovative model of residential services allows for outreach to an increased number of homeless and at-risk individuals and families. The Villages of Hope Haven makes it possible to respond to a critical shortage of aftercare facilities that provides long term services to many suffering from opioid and heroin addiction need. All Hope Haven residents participate in regular group, family, and individual counseling, 12-step meetings, parenting and recovery workshops, vocational and educational assessments, and job training programs. The agency recognizes the importance of family to an individual’s successful recovery and transition to self-sufficiency; so Hope Haven allows for the reunification of children with their parents earlier in the recovery process.
